A Program which Constellation NewEnergy offers its customer as a way to save money on your electric bill.
Did you know almost 25% of your power charges are determined by your usage during just a few hours each year? Would you like to know when those hours are? Contact us with any questions!
The savings potential created by Constellation is correlated with your load reductions during the Constellation peak event hours; you are, however, never under any obligation to reduce your consumption. Constellation will attempt to correctly predict the Peak-Setting hours with the fewest calls possible. Historically, Constellation has correctly predicted the Peak-Setting hour(s) with approximately 10 Constellation Peak Response Events.

we
offer
Demand Response (DR) is an alternative to traditional power generation and transmission infrastructure projects that enables electric power grid operators to reduce the likelihood of service disruptions, such as brownouts and blackouts, during periods of peak electricity demand, and otherwise manage the electric power grid during short-term imbalances of supply and demand or during periods when energy prices are high.
KOREnergy’s customers can reduce their consumption off the grid through either on-site, back-up generation or by turning off electric-consuming equipment. We work with each of our customers to develop load reduction strategies and to appoint their on-site staff who are required to implement these strategies if so notified by KOREnergy. For each customer, we have at least two (2) contact individuals and a minimum of two means of communication to notify them.
As a Curtailment Service Provider (CSP) of PJM Interconnection LLC., (PJM) the wholesale power grid operator, KOREnergy has commercial & industrial (C&I) customers located across Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. When called upon, our customers have the ability to reduce some or all of their electric consumption off of the grid. For the customer’s ability to stand-by and act (reduce electric usage) during times of a supply shortage (“Event”), PJM makes recurring payments to KOREnergy for managing our customers Demand Response capacity. We then share a portion of these payments with our customers. These payments help our customers achieve lower energy costs, improved financial results, and environmental benefits.
Whether our clients are called on by PJM or not, they are still compensated for standing “ready” to reduce their electric usage. Historically, customers should expect to be called upon by PJM when temperatures in July and August reach levels near 100 degrees or more in the 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Eastern Prevailing timeframe.
